On the Threshold

This was a painting I completed within a body of works titled "Perspectives of Poverty". The scene depicts a child on the threshold of the area where the women are tending babies. The threshold is both literal and metaphorical, representing a precipice where life circumstances and decisions can influence both life choices and life paths.
